Hurrah, we come to the end of the module! We began by asking why electric switches are made of plastic. Even though plastic is bad for the environment, we continue to use plastic. Why do we not make switches of something like Iron or Steel?
As we saw in this module, Plastic is a non-metal. So, it is a bad conductor of electricity. Switches should be bad conductors of electricity. Otherwise, if the switch is a good conductor of electricity, we may get an electric shock. That is why we use plastic switches, and not iron switches!
