Hurrah, we come to the end of the module! We started by saying that a video movie and a collection of photos are the same thing. You saw during the module that if a collection of photos moves very fast, it will appear continuous to us.

Most movies we see are shown at a frame rate of 24 frames per second. That is, in one second, 24 different photos change. Our brain thinks that things are moving smoothly.

In fact, the word cinema comes from the Greek word kinema, which means movement. So, cinema is the movement of photos.
