Vectors are best represented on a plot. Here, you see Vector A plotted on a graph. It is clear that it has a direction, the direction that the arrow is pointing in.

The magnitude is just the length of the vector, which, in this case increases from \(0\) to \(4\). Initially, the arrow is pointing in a North-East direction. Then, the direction changes to East, and finally to South-East, before returning to its original direction.
